American band, formed in 1974 by Chris Stein and Debbie Harry. Drummer Clem Burke and keyboard player Jimmy Destri joined in 1975. In 1976 they recorded their first album "Blondie", released in 1977.

After several more releases the band fell apart in the early 1980s. However they reformed in the late 1990s.

Inducted into Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 2006

"Call Me" is a song by the American new wave band Blondie and the theme to the 1980 film American Gigolo.

Released in the US in early 1980 as a single, "Call Me" was number one for six consecutive weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, where it became the band's biggest single and second #1.

It also hit #1 in the UK and Canada, where it became their fourth and second chart-topper respectively. In the year-end charts of 1980 it was Billboard's #1 hit, and according to Billboard magazine, was the top-selling single of the year in the United States in 1980 and RPM's #3.

Maria" is a song by the American band Blondie, taken from their 1999 album No Exit. This song was Blondie's comeback single, their first since "War Child" in July 1982. The song peaked at number eighty two on the Billboard Hot 100. Internationally, the song topped the charts in the United Kingdom, becoming the band's sixth chart-topping song in that country. It also peaked within the top ten of the charts in Austria, Belgium, Germany, the Republic of Ireland, Sweden and Switzerland.

"Rapture" is a song by the American pop rock band Blondie from their fifth studio album, Autoamerican (1980).
In January 1981, "Rapture" was released as the second and final single from the album. The song reached No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart, where it stayed for two weeks. It was the first No. 1 song in the U.S. to feature rap. The song peaked at No. 4 in Australia and No. 5 in the United Kingdom.

"Atomic" is a hit song by the American new wave band Blondie, written by Debbie Harry and Jimmy Destri and produced by Mike Chapman. It was released as the third single from the band's Platinum-selling 1979 album Eat to the Beat.

"Heart of Glass" is a song by the American new wave band Blondie, written by singer Debbie Harry and guitarist Chris Stein. Featured on the band's third studio album, Parallel Lines (1978), it was released as the album's third single in January 1979 and reached number one on the charts in several countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom.

In December 2004, Rolling Stone ranked the song number 255 on its list of the 500 greatest songs of all time.  It was ranked at number 259 when the list was updated in April 2010.  Slant Magazine placed it at number 42 on their list of the greatest dance songs of all time  and Pitchfork named it the 18th best song of the 1970s.

Currently, "Heart of Glass" is ranked at number 56 in the UK's official list of biggest selling singles of all-time with sales of 1.3 million copies.

French music producer and DJ Bob Sinclar and Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen recorded a cover version of "Heart of Glass" in 2014 that became an international European hit. The song was recorded for H&M clothing stores' 2014 advertising campaign. Proceeds from download sales were donated to UNICEF.

"The Tide Is High" is a 1966 song written by John Holt, originally produced by Duke Reid and performed by the Jamaican group The Paragons, with John Holt as lead singer. The song gained international attention in 1980, when a version by the American band Blondie became a US/UK number one hit. The British girl group Atomic Kitten also had a number one hit with their version of the song in 2002, and a version of the song was a minor hit for Canadian rapper Kardinal Offishall in 2008.
