Klostertaler , until 1996 The young Klostertaler
, was an Austrian music group of popular music . On 14 August 2010, the band released.

The first appearance of the "Junge Klostertaler" in Germany took place in 1976 in Salem- Mimmenhausen, where they gave their last open-air in Germany at the Schloßseefest.

In the 1980s the first recordings of the band appeared. In 1993 the group took part in the Grand Prix of the Volksmusik and reached with An a miracle I g'laubt for Austria the 1st place.

This was the breakthrough on the popular hit market. In 1995 , they took part for the second time with the title of Christmas in July , but they were already in the preliminary decision. On 30 August 2008 the Klostertaler with the title " Heimat" took place where the mountains are once again part of the Grand Prix of the national music and occupied again the 1. place. They are the only group that has achieved this.

In 2001 the singer of the group Markus Wolfahrt, together with Gottfried Würcher ( Nockalm Quintett ) and Norbert Rier ( Kastelruther Spatzen ), had received the crown of the national music . The big 3 of the national music received this award for the most spectacular media event of the year 2000. The three music groups have now also released seven joint albums and three DVDs.

After their dissolution Markus Wolfahrt started a solokarriere and published his first album Mein Weg . Wolfgang Maier and Christian Torchiani founded the duo Hilander already in 2007, which already released three recordings on the market.  Gerhard Tschann published two of a total of five albums after the dissolution under the name Geri of the Ex-Klostertaler .

The Klostertaler received five golden records . Furthermore, they were the winners of the ARD hit parade The golden one and year winner of the ARD-Schlagerparade 1996. In the same year they received the Golden Stimmgabel . They were nominated twice for an Amadeus Austrian Music Award , which they received on September 16, 2010, after the end of their careers.
