Jupiter Jones is a band from the Eifel , which became known in 2011 by the title Still to a larger audience and received an echo .

The band, founded in the autumn of 2002 at a party in the Eifel, named after the young detective Jupiter Jones (in the German Justus Jonas ) from the English-language original version of the book and radio play series Die drei , Typical for the band are the demanding German lyrics.  Jupiter Jones releases the bandeigenen label Mathildas and Titus recordings , which also according to figures from Die drei Is named.
The first demo of the band, On Life , was already recorded in the founding year and is available for download on the Internet. Subsequently, they were active as a supporting band for Muff Potter , the Donots and The (International) Noise Conspiracy .

In November 2003 they reached second place at the Rockbuster Newcomercontest of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, which is presented by the SWR radio station " Dasding".  Jupiter Jones played the first major independent performance in 2004 at the Southside Festival . In October of the same year, the debut album appeared around the room . The title contained in this book is the title of the first edition of the newcomer's net parade of Radiosenders Dasding.


2007 appeared the second album Either goes this horrible wallpaper - or me . In cooperation with the Goethe Institute, Jupiter Jones played a 10-day tour in Bulgaria in the same year. The following year, Ankara attracted some 7,000 spectators. In 2008, Jupiter Jones played an unplugged concert at the Kapuzinerkloster Cochem , which was recorded and appeared under the title ... Quiet as a DVD as well as an album. In 2009 the band was one of the "talents" in the promotion of the Volkswagen Sound Foundation . Since then, she has been part of the so-called Sound Foundation Family.  This year also appeared the third Studioalbum Holiday in Catatonia , where Jana Pallaske can be heard as a guest singer.

In August 2010 the band signed a contract with Columbia Berlin ( Sony ).  Mathildas and Titus Tonträger remains as a label however still involved. The first album on the major label was released on 25 February 2011 under the title Jupiter Jones and includes twelve titles, including the single release Still , which appeared as a CD on March 4, but previously on the band's website in two versions as Video was seen (original video and live acoustic appearance in the ARD).

There is also an official music video for the song Still .  On April 13, 2011, Jupiter Jones, in a series of hand on the heart, had a performance with their song Still .  Still , in April 2011, Still became the most popular German-language song on German radio. [8th]


In May and June 2011, the band performed at the Schlossgrabenfest in Darmstadt, as well as at the Hurricane and Southside festivals.  On 15 June 2011, the group sang and played their song " Immer immer immer" on Sat1-Frühstücksfernsehen , which they also presented on the program on tape at ZDFkultur on 1 July 2011 and already on 12 March 2011 For the Radio Bremen broadcast, Buten un Binnen .  On September 29, 2011, they performed with the song at the Bundesvision Song Contest for Rheinland-Pfalz and finished sixth.

On October 5, 2012, a Dutch-language cover version of the song Still of the Zeeland band Bløf was released in the Netherlands under the name Zo stil .  The cover version took 14th place in the Dutch charts.

On October 11, 2013, Jupiter Jones released her sixth album The Opposite of All . The song " Rennen + Stolpern" was released as the first single on September 27, 2013, which was placed on the charts on October 11, With the release of the new album, the 2014 to April 26th 2014 tour should be accompanied by the "opposite of all-tour" tour .

On March 3, 2014, however, all dates of the concert tour were canceled because singer Nicholas Müller suffered from anxiety disorders .  On May 14, 2014, the band announced on Facebook that Nicholas Müller was leaving the band due to his illness and was to be carried away with a new singer. A friend of the band, Sven Lauer von Caracho , was presented as a new singer.

In July 2014, the live album Glory.Glory.Hallelujah , still recorded with Nicholas Müller, appeared on the title of all previous albums. In addition, for the summer of the same year the first single together with Lauer was announced and plans on a new album kundgetan.
With the song Suddenly, the world stopped , Jupiter Jones joined on 20 September 2014 for Rhineland- Palatinate at the Federalvision Song Contest 2014 and reached the second place.

Special features
The band organizes a summer and a year-end concert every year. As a rule, the Summer Concerts in Trier in the ExHaus , the annual concluding concerts in Cologne take place in different venues (for example in the Gloria Theater or in the Live Music Hall ). At these concerts the band gives newcomers (for example The Bandgeek Mafia ) the opportunity to play in front of a larger audience.
