The Alan Parsons Project were a British progressive rock band, active between 1975 and 1990,  consisting of Alan Parsons and Eric Woolfson surrounded by a varying number of session musicians and some relatively consistent band members such as guitarist Ian Bairnson, bassist and vocalist David Paton, drummer Stuart Elliott, and vocalist Lenny Zakatek.

Behind the revolving line-up and the regular sidemen, the true core of the Project was the duo of Parsons and Woolfson. Parsons was an audio engineer by profession, but also a musician and a composer. A songwriter by profession, Woolfson was also a composer, a pianist, and a singer. Almost all songs on the band's albums are credited to "Parsons/Woolfson

"I Wouldn't Want to Be Like You" is a song by the British progressive rock band The Alan Parsons Project, featured on their 1977 album I Robot. Written by band leaders Alan Parsons and Eric Woolfson, "I Wouldn't Want to Be Like You" was sung by pop singer Lenny Zakatek, who would go on to sing many of the band's songs. In the United States, the song was a moderate success and charted at #36 on the Billboard Hot 100.

In 1977, the song was released as the lead single from the group's second album, I Robot. While the music and lyrics were written by Alan Parsons and Eric Woolfson, Lenny Zakatek sang lead vocals on the track. The song was a moderate success, charting at #36 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and #22 on the Canadian Singles Chart.

In 2013, the song was used in the best-selling video game Grand Theft Auto V in the game's classic rock channel.

"Time" is a song released in 1981 as a single by the Alan Parsons Project. It was from their 1980 album The Turn of a Friendly Card. In the U.S., the song peaked at #15 on the Billboard  and spent two weeks at #14 on Cash Box, making it the group's second most successful single. Cash Box ranked it as the 94th biggest hit of 1981.

In Canada, the song peaked at #30. On the U.S. Adult Contemporary chart, "Time" peaked at number 10.

The song was the first Alan Parsons Project song (and single) to feature Eric Woolfson as lead vocalist, and one of the group's few songs in which Alan Parsons' own voice can be heard singing (background/counterpoint vocals).
