Paul Albert Anka (Ottawa, 30 July 1941) is a Canadian-born American singer and songwriter.

A significant part in Paul's career was the profound relationship of esteem and friendship that bound him to the composer and conductor Don Costa (father of the singer Nikka Costa), who masterly arranged several compositions by Paul Anka. In Italy, in addition to being successful with the Italian versions of his most popular songs, he also had the opportunity to interpret unpublished pieces of Italian authors, with whom he entered several times in the standings: the most famous of these was at the Sanremo Festival 1964. In 1962 he participated in the war film The Longest Day.

Then, at the Sanremo Festival in 1968 he sang The crazed butterfly (paired with Johnny Dorelli), a song composed by Lucio Battisti. After a few years, Anka interrupted the production of songs in Italian, but her career abroad continued unabated, even as a producer and author. From this point of view, his most significant success was the adaptation in English of the song Comme d'habitude, already known in France in the interpretation of Claude François, which in English became My Way.
