Donald Tai Loy Ho (simplified Chinese: 何大来; traditional Chinese: 何大來; pinyin: H Dli; August 13, 1930 April 14, 2007), better known as Don Ho was an American traditional pop musician, singer and entertainer. He is best known for the song "Tiny Bubbles".

Ho, a singer of Hawaiian and Chinese[which?] descent on his paternal side and Hawaiian and Portuguese descent on his mother's side, was born in the small Honolulu neighborhood of Kakaʻako to Emily (Honey) Leimaile Silva and James Ah You Puao Ho, but he grew up in Kāneʻohe on the windward side of the island of Oʻahu. He was a graduate of the Kamehameha Schools in 1949 and he attended Springfield College on a football scholarship in 1950, but returned home to earn a Bachelor's degree in sociology at University of Hawai'i in 1953. In 1954 Ho entered the United States Air Force doing his basic training at Keesler AFB, Mississippi and spent time flying fighter jets in both Texas and Hawaii. Transferred to Travis AFB, California he went to the local city of Concord and bought an electronic keyboard from a music store, and recalls, "That's when it all started."

Don married his high school sweetheart, Melva May Kolokea Wong, on November 21, 1951. She was the mother to his first six children. They were married for 48 years, until Melva May's death on June 8, 1999. While in the military, Ho traveled from state to state with his young family until he was called home to help his mother with the family bar business called Honey's.

Don Ho - Tiny Bubbles

"Tiny Bubbles" is a song written by Martin Denny and Leon Pober. It was released in 1966 by Don Ho. The song was also recorded by Wayne Newton and Rex Allen.

It charted on both the pop (#57 on the Billboard Hot 100) and easy listening charts, which caused its album, also called Tiny Bubbles, to peak at number 15 on the Billboard 200 chart  and is widely considered to be Ho's most famous song.  Billy Vaughn did an instrumental cover in same year and charted at No. 31 in the Bubbling Under. Also, Rex Allen made a country cover in 1968 and peaked at #71 in the Billboard country charts. Nearly three years later Evie Sands' "Any Way That You Want Me" tied "Tiny Bubbles" for longevity among 1960s hits failing to reach the Hot 100's top 50 (at 17 weeks).
