Erik Herschmann (born 24 September 1942 in Briesen , Sudetenland , today Czech Republic , † 23 November 2008 in Cologne ) was a German percussionist , composer , lyricist and producer.

Training
After completing his school, Erik Silvester completed a three-year apprenticeship, which he completed with the examinations, and then studied harmony and composition theory. He played guitar , bass , piano , drums and saxophone .

Career
His first single Karina-Lu appeared in 1960; Some of his songs he himself composed. In September 1967 reached his single Then the door fell to place 26 of the German charts. Erik Silvester was married from 1985 to the widow of the racing driver Rolf Stommelen.

He died in November 2008 at the age of 66 years after a short illness in Cologne-Rodenkirchen of heart failure.
