Massimo Di Cataldo (Rome, April 25, 1968) is an Italian singer-songwriter.

Very young she starred in commercials and plays small television parts. As a teenager is able to play several instruments, passion that allows him to become a part of the underground music circuit of the eighties. Graduated from art school and fascinated by the theater, he is noted by the director Mauro Bolognini, who wants him to A Midsummer Night's Dream. Later the director Gus Van Sant takes him on the set of My Own Private Idaho. It may also be chosen from among the protagonists of the film Italian Saturday.

After a long European tour, in 1996 returns to the Sanremo Festival, this time in the section Big, with the song If you go away now. This year also saw the album Souls, who won triple platinum. Cataldo wins a disc for the summer with the song With heart and won the Telegatto as best revelation of the year to Rate voice. Anime is published in Spanish and reprinted in Italy and in the world in a second version, with the title track sung in two voices with Youssou N'Dour.

After a long period of touring and promotion abroad, in 1997 it was the turn of Growing up, his third studio album. The album goes right at the top of the charts. In the same period online is put the artist's official website, which gets numerous reviews and awards for content and graphics.

In 1998 he meets the guitarist David Rhodes, with whom he begins a collaboration that led him to move to England for the production of the album Ten. The disc is made entirely in the Real World studios of Peter Gabriel, and will be of great influence in the musical and artistic choices future of Di Cataldo, now also co-producer of his works. Completed the new album, the singer participated in the Sanremo Festival 1999 with the song you are beautiful. The album Ten is certified gold after the first week of sales. In the summer Di Cataldo takes part in the Festivalbar with the song I'll never lose.
