Amedeo Minghi (Rome, 12 August 1947) is an Italian singer-songwriter and composer.

Abandoned the group of Pandemonium in 1978, signing for CBS, for which he published in 1980 the second album, Minghi, collaborating once again for the lyrics with De Angelis and another lyricist, Adelio Cogliati; the album is preceded by the 45 laps More / Before it's noise, which gets a good success and reports Minghi in the standings three years after the last single The immense.

Disappointed by the poor promotion made by the record company for the album and for the last 45 laps, Someone (song with the text written by the painter Angelo Di Santo), goes to It, where he meets the lyricist and musician Gaio Chiocchio, with whom he begins a collaboration that will last four years and which will produce some of the most important songs made by Minghi.

In 1981 he started producing a young singer-songwriter: Mario Castelnuovo.

In 1983 he participated in the Sanremo Festival with 1950. The song was not admitted to the final evening and also came last, with 17 017 votes, in the non-competitive ranking of the popular vote Totip. 1950 combines love, peace and war in a melodic and poetic crescendo that well represents the characteristic "year between the war and 2000, a year round like the ball that I throw direct and that beautiful effect to my heart". Minghi called 1950 "the song that best represents me". [3]

This song will be taken by Gianni Morandi. In addition, Minghi will sing a piece of text modified for a FIAT spot.

Passed to the RCA Italiana, publishes in 1984 the Q disc When summer will come.

In 1985 he was a guest at the Sanremo Festival with Il profumo del tempo, a song sung together with Katia Ricciarelli.

In 1986 he published the album Hearts of Peace, followed by Serenata (1987), recorded for Durium.

In 1988 he signed with Fonit-Cetra, starting a series of successes, thanks also to the contribution to the words of a poet like Pasquale Panella. The first album with the new label is Le nuvole e la rosa.

In 1989 he published La vita mia album which sold 500,000 copies, opening the long theatrical tour "Maybe yes music" that ends after 3 years with more than 160 replicates and a million spectators, after having brought a new interpreter to Canzoni: Mietta. With Amedeo's song, Mietta will win not only in the "Nuovi" category of the Sanremo Festival, but also in the critics' prize and then a platinum record and a silver telegatto as a musical revelation of the year.

1950 - Amedeo Minghi

1950 is the third album by Italian singer-songwriter Amedeo Minghi, published in 1983.

Although not having achieved success at the time of publication, this album contains some of the best known songs by Minghi, often repeated later in live albums, such as Sottomarino, St. Michel, La casa along the Tiber but above all the title track, presented at the 1983 Sanremo Festival with little success.

The lyrics of the songs are by Gaio Chiocchio, while the music is by Amedeo Minghi, except for the song Flash Back, composed by Alfredo Giannetti for the lyrics and by Carlo Esposito, Mario Torosantucci and Giorgio ChierchiŤ for music. The song, the theme song of the television drama "All'ombra della grande quercia", is also published on 45 laps (on the back a musical theme with the same title of the script, written by Carlo Esposito).

Ciaccona is inspired by the music of a Ciaccona in D minor by Johann Sebastian Bach, which Minghi had already used the previous year collaborating with Mario Castelnuovo, Goran Kuzminac and Marco Ferradini in writing the song Oltre il giardino. In the song "La casa lungo il Tevere" there is a musical quotation from the operatic piece Va 'pensiero by the composer Giuseppe Verdi.

Vattene Amore - Amedeo Minghi
Vattene Amore - Amedeo Minghi

Vattene amore is a song written by Amedeo Minghi and Pasquale Panella and presented at the Sanremo Festival in 1990, where it ranked third. Minghi performed in duet with Mietta, winner the previous year in the "New" category.

The song is a classic piece of love, characterized by a strong vocal chiaroscurism, very original in its captivating melody. The text is an apparent non-sense and tells the difficulties of a couple separated from his numerous journeys. The refrain was particularly famous, which used, as nicknames among lovers, the unusual "love trottolino, dudý dadadŗ", later taken up by the media and often parodied to indicate a language of lovers, excessively sugary and vaguely ridiculous. Another distinctive feature of the piece is the predominance of Mietta compared to the text sung by Minghi.

The song was also recorded and performed live by Nikka Costa in English with the title All for the Love, also during the Sanremo event.
