Sandro Giacobbe, with the registry office Santino Giacobbe (Moneglia, 14 December 1951), is an Italian singer-songwriter.

A working class family, with parents of Lucanian origins (from Genzano di Lucania, in the province of Potenza), with two brothers, at sixteen, neglecting the studies of accounting, form with some friends a band, Jacob & the Hallucinations, and exhibits in the premises of Liguria.

Gets a first contract with the Dischi Ricordi, and debuted in 1971 with the song For three minutes and then ..., followed the following year by Excuse me if I love you; these first recordings, however, do not get any feedback, and then changes to the record company CBS, which enhances it first as an author, then publishing some of his songs sung by other artists, including getting a good success Love is a great thing, interpreted by Johnny Dorelli and chosen as the acronym of the Gran Varietà radio show.

The first 45 laps of success is in 1974: Madam, who participates in the Festivalbar and gives its name to her first album; the song is also included in the soundtrack of the film by Lina Wertmüller Travolti from an unusual destiny in the blue sea of ​​August, while another song of the album, Lady Goodbye, is also interpreted by Gianni Nazzaro.

In 1979 with Mi va you're back the popular success repeated the following year by Night without you and above all by It will be the nostalgia of 1982 which is established as one of the most acclaimed hits of the year and which will later also sung by German Nino De Angelo.

In 1983 he is back in Sanremo with the delicate Spring, while the following year he still gets a hit with Portami to dance, a very popular summer song presented at Un disco for the summer. Subsequently, the recording activity has been thrown off mainly to concerts and solidarity and sports initiatives linked to the national singers of which he is a central defender and later promoted to coach.

In 1990 he returned to the Sanremo competition singing "Io Vorrei", which gives the title to the new album, published by Carosello. In 2003 he took part in the Festival of Viña del Mar, in Chile, with the song Intanto passes the time and gets the second place among the Big. In 2008 the comedian Antonio Albanese uses his hit Il mio cielo, my soul as an accompanying song for his character Cetto La Qualunque in the television program Che tempo che fa.

He was the author of the soundtrack for the Brazilian sitcom "Amico Bet", played by Stefano P. Bet.

In 2009 he published the album, Do you want to dance ?. In 2010 he published for Sony the CD Whole life, accompanied by a video. In 2011, the single "Sei musica", also with video, was released on the Airone Music label.

In December 2014 he participates as a VIP competitor at the launch of the Pupo television quiz on the Agon Channel channel.

In January 2015 he published the single Ali to fly interpreted together with his partner Marina Peroni, with the label Airone Music and distribution Music Universe a.c.m.
