Tony Marshall (born 3 February 1938) is a German Schlager and opera singer.

Born in Baden-Baden as Herbert Anton Bloeth (a name which he had later changed to Herbert Anton Hilger), Marshall trained as an opera singer in Karlsruhe, graduating in 1965.

However, rather than embarking on a career in the opera, in 1971, he had his first hit single, "Schöne Maid" (a year later also released in an English-language version, "Pretty Maid").

Beautiful Maid is a 1971 member of Tony Marshall . It is based on a Tahitian folk song and became a millionaire .

Tony Marshall had graduated as an opera singer at the Musikhochschule Karlsruhe in 1965 and won a record deal with Decca in a Schlager- Nachwuchs competition. After three unsuccessful singles, he met the music producer Jack White during a sauna stay in Berlin. He had the idea of transforming the world music Nau Haka Taranga , sung in the Tahitian country language Reo Tahiti , into a mood swing. The song was a Tahitian folk song that was no longer subject to copyright as a nonsense work . Jack White, whose Young Musikverlag takes the rights to the German version, is therefore registered as an editor. The version of the orchestra was Arthur Iriti, who had released the LP Iaora Tahiti  (Barclay MB 28.046) in 1968. The Tahitian song was adapted as a Poi ball dance by the Maori .

Actually, Marshall did not want to sing the song, so he had drunk a bit before the recording with Chianti . He hoped that Jack White would throw him out of the recording studio. Marshall had said first because his first ambitious single was a flop , but he needed the money for his family.  Arranged by Jo Plée and produced by Jack White, a nightmare recording in the Berlin Ariola recording studio Meistersaal under the title of " Schöne Maid" was a mood-shifting movement with a banal text whose percussive rhythm is the success factor.
