Ivo Livi, better known as Yves Montand (French pronunciation: [iv mɔ̃tɑ̃]; 13 October 1921 – 9 November 1991), was an Italian-French actor and singer.
Montand was born Ivo Livi in Monsummano Terme, Italy, to Giuseppina (née Simoni) and Giovanni Livi, a broom manufacturer.[1][2][3] Giuseppina was a devout Catholic, while Giovanni held strong Communist beliefs.[1] Montand's family left for France in 1923 because of Italy's Fascist regime.[4] He grew up in Marseille, where, as a young man, he worked in his sister's beauty salon (Salon de Coiffure), and later on the docks. He began a career in show business as a music-hall singer. In 1944, he was discovered by Édith Piaf in Paris and she made him part of her act.

La Bicyclette is a French song performed by Yves Montand , released in 1968 on the eponymous album La Bicyclette , with music by Francis Lai and lyrics by Pierre Barouh .
The original version was Bicycle, but due to a song by Bourvil with the same title, Bicycle , it was recorded at the Sacem like La Bicyclette .
In the original studio version, arrangements were made by Hubert Rostaing and Jack Laurel, 1 accompanied by Bob Castella 2 , musician and conductor of Yves Montand from 1947 until his death in 1991. Castella was also his secretary and trusted man. After 1960, Montand no longer had a manager.
The Bicyclette was taken over in 2006 by Laurent Voulzy on his album La Septième Vague .
The music of La Bicyclette was adapted for guitar by Roland Dyens 3 included in his album Chansons françaises .
