The Cocktail Trio was a well-known singing trio of popular Dutch songs in the fifties , sixties and seventies .

In 1951, Ad van de Gein (piano) with Tonny More (guitar) and Carel Alberts (double bass) formed the Cocktail Trio. The Flea circus became a hit in 1965. Other successful songs were Kangaroo , Batje Vier ("Long live the man who invented beer "), Kadewaska , Big Bear , The whole world only from us (a cover of Chuck Berry 's composition No Particular Place To Go ) and Who has seen the key to the jukebox? André Meurs was the writer of several songs of the Cocktail Trio.

In 1979, Ad van de Gein had to shoot a number of gigs due to vocal cancer; that meant a break with the other two members.

Henny Langeveld took his place. In 1982 Van de Gein unsuccessfully tried to claim the name Cocktail Trio through the courts. He was unsuccessful; but due to the death of Tonny More in 1985, the remaining trio quickly fell apart.

Later the recovered Van de Gein performed several times with a Cocktail Trio program, until he finally stopped on his ninetieth birthday. He died more than two years later at the age of 92.
