Il Paradiso - Patty Pravo

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8i0AOvJMpTk

The single was quite successful, and remained one of the most significant pieces of the Pravo career; He entered the top ten for seven weeks, but failed to go beyond the ninth.

At the end of the year, it turned out to be the single most sold in Italy forty [.

Paradise, song written by Mogol-Battisti duo was originally recorded by Ambra Borelli, under the name Girl 77, as part of a project beat the record label discs Remember, and released as a single with the title The paradise of life. However, at that stage the song passed virtually unnoticed.

But when a cover of the song in English titled If Paradise Is Half As Nice is sung by the British Amen Corner group, had a great response from the public in Europe, RCA relaunched the song, this time entrusting it to Patty Pravo, with a new arrangement edited by Piero Pintucci.

The song is also known by the titles "Heaven (of life)" and "The paradise of life" (as indicated in the score of the Edizioni Musicali FAME LTD).

The doll remained for nine weeks at the top of the best sellers in Italy, making it the second best-selling 45s of 1968 . The song also allowed the Pravo to record his debut album Patty Pravo, published in the same year, which contains both songs of the 45s.
Doll said the complaints of a woman who demands respect to their man, who treats it as if it were "a doll", using and exploiting it to your liking, and then "throwing it down" when it is no longer useful. The song has a short musical intro achieved only with acoustic 12-string guitar played by Maurizio De Angelis and tambourine.

Pensiero Stupendo -  Patty Pravo

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HYo7ANkf4F0

Pensiero stupendo / Bello is the 24th single of Patty Pravo, produced by Antonio Coggio, published by the Italian RCA record company in January 1978.
The single reached the high areas of the hit-parade in the first weeks of 1978 and both songs belonging to it were included in the Miss Italia album.

Thinking amazing is a piece of music written by Ivano Fossati and Oscar Prudente.

The piece was born in 1974 by the hand of Oscar Prudente, who wrote both the music and the text, calling it Magic Formulas. The piece was tried by Gianni Morandi during the registrations of the LP World of candied fruit (published in 1975 and entirely written by Prudente), but nothing was done.

In an interview for the Pop! Journey through a song, Prudente tells of having subsequently commissioned another text to Ivano Fossati at the request of the then CGD record Alfredo Cerruti, who was looking for a hit for Loredana Bertè. Fossati then wrote a sensual and transgressive story, in line with the character then in full ascent of Bertè, who however did not appreciate its contents and refused to engrave it, opting for another piece written by the Fossati-Prudente duo. , included in the Normal or Super LP (1976).

In an interview with the weekly L'espresso, Fossati said that the song was then proposed for the launch in Italy of a French singer, Jeanne Mas, already popular at home [2] and for which it was scheduled to participate in the 1978 edition of the Cantagiro.

But Ennio Melis, director general of the RCA who was made to listen to wonderful thought, immediately thought that the song was perfect for Patty Pravo. The singer was called, who at the time was without any record contract after the break with Ricordi, and in the autumn of 1977 the piece was recorded, then went out on 45 laps in January 1978.

La Pravo recorded the song in the studio several times, but in the end - after a session lasting about a couple of hours - was convinced by the producer Antonio Coggio to leave the first take, judged already perfect for recording on disk. On the piece there is a version with a double vowel that has never been seen before. This is possible to listen to it in the two television passages (the piece was presented in playback) recorded before the publication of the 45 rpm. The two programs are: Sim Salabim Speciale Natale, broadcast December 25, 1977 and conducted by the wizard Silvan, and Winter Festival - Disconeve 78, designed by Vittorio Salvetti and recorded in Asiago, broadcast January 22, 1978. In both steps television Patty Pravo performs with red hair, quite unusual event.

Of the 45 laps you can find four different runs, easily identifiable for the change of date, from January to April, reported on the cover. In all the promotional copies (white label), and in the very first commercial copies printed in January (blue label) the piece is credited only to Fossati. The cover photo is taken from a concert of the summer 1977.

La Pravo, in an interview in the mid-80s, said that she immediately fell in love with the song because it reminded her of a transgressive night spent at the Piper Club in the early 60s, with Nat and Nick from the BlackJack beat group.

It was the umpteenth record exploit for the Venetian singer: the single entered the rankings to the tenth position on March 11, 1978 [4], and swayed in the top five position for over two months, reaching the summit for two weeks in April . [4] At the end of the year, amazing thinking turned out to be the ninth best-selling single of 1978.
