The Big Gundown (Italian: La resa dei conti, lit. The Settling of Scores) is a 1966 Italian Spaghetti Western film, co-written by long-time Sergio Leone collaborator Sergio Donati, directed by Sergio Sollima, and starring Lee Van Cleef and Tomas Milian.[3] It was originally released by Columbia Pictures in the US as a double feature with A Time for Killing.

Some critics, such as Leonard Maltin, consider the film one of the finest spaghetti westerns, second only to Sergio Leone's Dollars Trilogy. It was the first film Van Cleef made following The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966) and was his first leading man or hero role. Tomas Milian played Cuchillo, a charming rogue accused of rape and murder. Run, Man, Run! (1968) was a sequel which brought back Milian without Van Cleef.

It was important to Sergio Sollima that he tell a classic tale of a rich corrupt politician vs. a poor misunderstood peasant/scapegoat as a way of addressing the age old subject that, being Italian, he knew quite well living under the dictatorship of Mussolini during World War II. This film would actually share more with Leone's opus Once Upon a Time in the West than the Eastwood pictures. Each focuses on the modernizing of the West and the corrupt, rich businessmen that manipulated and used the poor.[4] The film was shot in Almería, Spain, where many famous Italian Westerns were filmed.[5]

Burning Heart is a single from the US rock band Survivor, published for the soundtrack of the movie Rocky IV in the fall of 1985. He finished second in the Billboard Hot 100 for two consecutive weeks in February 1986, behind That's What Friends Are For by Dionne & Friends.

The group received the request to compose the song by the lead actor Sylvester Stallone, who had much appreciated the work done with the single Eye of the Tiger in the previous chapter of the saga, Rocky III of 1982. The text refers to the Cold War in progress between the United States and the Soviet Union. The two authors Jim Peterik and Frankie Sullivan claimed to have been inspired by the rivalry described in the film between Rocky Balboa and Russian boxer Ivan Drago.

Originally, the song was supposed to be titled The Unmistakable Fire. It was Sylvester Stallone who suggested that Jim Peterik change the title; Stallone himself also suggested modifying the initial words of the refrain from "In the human heart just about to burst" in "In the burning heart" about to burst ").

The song was again recorded by Jimi Jamison and released as a single in 1999.

Once upon a time, the West is a 1968 film directed by Sergio Leone. It is an epic-colored Italian western produced by Paramount Pictures and starring Claudia Cardinale, Henry Fonda, Jason Robards and Charles Bronson. The screenplay was written by Leone and Sergio Donati, by a subject created by Leone, Bernardo Bertolucci and Dario Argento. The film was photographed by Tonino Delli Colli and music by Ennio Morricone. It is the first episode of the trilogy of the time of Leo, which will continue with Giù la testa (1971) and Once upon a time in America (1984).

The director's original version was 165 minutes long when the film was released on December 21, 1968. This version was screened in European cinemas, and was a hit at the box office. For release in the United States on May 28, 1969, Once upon a time the West was cut from the Paramount until a duration of 145 minutes, receiving a critical reception mostly negative and failing financially. The film is today considered among the best ever made.

In 2009 the film was included in the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress to be meaningful "culturally, historically or aesthetically".

The Thrones Throne (Game of Thrones) is a fantastic American television series created by David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, who debuted on April 17, 2011 on the HBO cable channel. She was born as a television adaptation of the cycle of novels A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin.

The series tells the adventures of many characters and is set in a large imaginary world consisting mainly of the Western (Westeros) and Eastern (Essos) continents. The largest and most civilized center of the Western continent is the capital city of King's Landing, where the Throne of Swords of the Seven Kingdoms is located. The struggle for the conquest of the throne brings the most powerful and noble families of the continent to clash or ally with each other in a twisted play of power, which also involves the last descendant of the deposed ruling dynasty. The political, economic and religious intrigues of the nobility leave the population in poverty and degradation, while the world is threatened by the arrival of a different winter from the previous ones, which awakens forgotten legendary creatures and brings out dark and magical forces.

The Iron Throne has attracted a record number of viewers on HBO and has generated an exceptionally broad and active international fandom. The series has received wide acclaim from critics, especially for acting, the complex characters, the plot, the scope and the quality of production, although the frequent use of nude and physical and sexual violence have also attracted some criticism negative. The Spade of Thrones holds two world records (most pirated and simulcast television program of a broader dramatic television program) [1] and has won 38 Emmy Awards out of 106 total nominations, [2] becoming the most recognized television series by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

In the summer of 1963, the Houseman family (composed of father, mother and two daughters) went on holiday to the Catskill Mountains, in a tourist village owned by Elder Max Kellerman. The youngest and favorite daughter Frances "Baby" Houseman, seventeen years old, aspires to enter the Mount Holyoke College to study economics with the goal of accessing the Peace Corps. During her vacation Frances meets Johnny Castle, who along with Penny Johnson, works as a dance teacher for Hotel guests. Baby is fascinated and overwhelmed by the rhythms of the dance and starts dating Johnny.

Meanwhile, Penny, once discovered to be pregnant by Robbie (Houseman's waiter), decides to have an abortion but risking his life: it is Baby's father who rescues her and heals her. Baby, "forced" to replace her new friend in the mambo duo, performs in a special issue. Later Johnny is accused of theft by the hotel managers (actually stealing the wallets of customers is a couple of old men) and Baby, when he discovers the misunderstanding, confesses that Johnny could not have carried out the theft because at that time was in the room with her. Johnny is thus equally dismissed, since he was strictly forbidden to have relations with the guests. On the last day of the Houseman family's holiday, Johnny, now sincerely in love with Baby, returns to the tourist village to see her again, performing in a last wild collective mambo.

Rocky III is a 1982 film directed by Sylvester Stallone.

It is the second sequel to the lucky Rocky of 1976 and, like the previous episode, is scripted, directed and performed by Sylvester Stallone. Produced again by Robert Chartoff and Irwin Winkler, the film features a "civilized" Rocky Balboa who, after becoming a heavyweight world champion, takes on the challenge of the African-American boxer Clubber Lang.

The song Eye of the Tiger (performed by Survivor) featured in the film was a great success, and is still often heard on TV and radio stations. Precisely for this reason, in 1983 he collected two nominations in two of the most important ceremonies in the world cinema scene: Oscar and Golden Globe. In this new chapter is added to the cast Mr. T in the role of Clubber Lang and wrestling champion Hulk Hogan in the role of "Toning Lips".

The good, the bad, the bad is a 1966 film directed by Sergio Leone.

Among the most famous westerns in the history of cinema, it is considered the quintessence of the lucky genre spaghetti western. [1] Filmed in the wake of the success of For a Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More, the film completes the Leonine dollar trilogy. The director, to escape once again the risk of repeating himself, increases again the number of protagonists, from two to three, placing the plot in the historical context of the American Civil War.

The title, born by chance, reflects the thought of Leo. In the three protagonists, each for his own autobiographical part, beauty and ugliness coexist, humanity and ferocity: the director demystifies all these concepts and at the same time, in a declared denunciation of the madness of war, demystifies the same history of the United States of America, showing the violent and brutal side, tarnished by the mythizing tradition of the western epic.

Leone reproposes the cliche of the nameless man interpreted by Clint Eastwood, but makes it more ambiguous, halfway between bounty hunter and executioner. Alongside Eastwood, in the part of the protagonists, Lee Van Cleef (also back from For a few dollars more, but here in a very different role) and Eli Wallach. We also note the participation of Aldo Giuffré in the guise of a captain of the unionist army. The character of Tuco stands out, however, because it is deepened in his experience and in his interior dimension, but because it is provided with a humorous side characterized by masterly talent from Wallach.

The scene of the so-called "triello" (a Mexican stalemate) at the end of the film has remained exemplary both for the shooting, both for the editing, both for the wise use of the soundtrack by Ennio Morricone (track Il triello), which underlines in an exclusive way, adding tension and evocative power.

The film initially divided the criticism, but it was a huge success with the public. His popularity remains unchanged and has now made it a classic cited in cinema, music and comics. Users and readers of specialized sites and magazines, but also important filmmakers like Quentin Tarantino, consider it among the best films of all time.

From the Soviet Union comes the Russian boxer Ivan Drago to challenge the American boxers. Apollo Creed, who became a family friend of Rocky Balboa, decides to challenge the powerful Ivan Drago, despite having retired for 5 years. Rocky realizing the size of the Russian boxer, tries to convince his friend not to make the meeting, but Apollo believes that it is not only a boxing match but also a political challenge. Comes the day of the match, in Las Vegas is organized in style, with James Brown singing Living in America and Apollo wearing the colors of the US flag.

The first round opens with Apollo who seems to have the best, but at the end of the latter Drago proves to be a tough opponent, with precise and powerful strokes launched to the American boxer, and when the round ends Apollo is in clear difficulty. Rocky urges Apollo to stop and cancel the meeting, too harsh for the returning Apollo. But he does not want to give up and orders Rocky not to throw in the towel, whatever happens. So the two boxers start fighting again. Apollo is weak because of the blows he suffered previously; a last blow settled by the Russian puts K.O. Apollo who does not get up anymore, dying in the arms of Rocky.

Rocky participates in the funeral of Apollo, then before leaving he leaves on his grave the belt that Apollo had won in his first world meeting. Now he wants to avenge his friend, and to do so he organizes a meeting with Drago with the Russian authorities. The head of the Russian authorities Nicoli Koloff accepts, but Rocky must accept certain conditions: the meeting will take place in Moscow on Christmas Day and without earning any money.

Given the confirmation at the meeting, Rocky leaves with Tony Evers and Paulie, while Adriana opposes the challenge remains at home. Rocky then begins training. Drago, meanwhile, trains with modern machinery and undergoes anabolic and steroid doses, while Rocky trains in his house and in the surrounding areas: he runs in the snow, splits and transports wood, raises and launches rudimentary weights, all under the control of Russian secret agents. Two days before the meeting, Adriana also arrives in Russia.

Comes December 25, the day of the meeting. Drago immediately puts Rocky into difficulty with powerful blows. In the second round, Rocky is able to react and with a fist attacked in the face of Drago manages to hurt the left eyebrow of the Russian, who remains stunned by the blow. The two fighters continue to strike, react and hit each other; towards the last two rounds, the public begins to shout loudly for the name of Rocky and to cheer for him. Rocky stretches Dragon in the last round and after winning he speaks with the microphone to the audience. His speech manages to move everyone, and raises the flag of the United States to the sky.

The Gladiator (Gladiator) is a colossal 2000 film directed by Ridley Scott, starring Russell Crowe, Joaquin Phoenix, Connie Nielsen, Richard Harris, Oliver Reed and Tomas Arana.

Crowe plays the faithful general Maximus (Italianized in "Massimo"), who is betrayed when Commodus, the ambitious son of the emperor, kills his father and takes possession of the throne. Reduced into slavery, Massimo reappears in the arena in the gladiatorial ranks to avenge the murder of his family and his emperor. The film was a hit at the box office, receiving generally positive reviews and winning five Oscars and many other awards.

It is 180 after Christ. The Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius is ill and nearing the end. At the moment of naming his successor, however, he does not choose his son Commodus, wicked and unsuitable, but the valiant general Massimo Decimo Meridio, a trustworthy man and a courageous leader. Commodus, jealous, he is not there: he suffocates his father and orders the murder of Maximus and his family. Escaped for a while, the general is reduced to slavery and trained as a gladiator to satisfy the sadistic pleasure of the people. Soon, his fame grows to the point of bringing him back to Rome, where he is determined to avenge his wife and son and to restore dignity and the Republic.
The inauguration of the new millennium is greeted by Ridley Scott with the rediscovery of a genre that seemed buried or, if nothing else, asleep for more than thirty years: the kolossal inspired by ancient Rome, revised in a computerized and highly pathetic key, etymological meaning of the term. The gaze on the past does not exempt the director from a more contemporary reflection than ever on the show as an end and together as a means. The arena, theater of a bloody game, is the center of the scene, and in it the performance is everything and the only possible victory is a media victory. The protagonist is no longer in time for the rescue in extremis of his affections: he is already a tragic hero, someone who has nothing to lose, but fights beyond human forces for an ideal reason, to tear out the world in which he is grown up and in which he believes and throw new light on the future, the one that reaches us.
The many fake historians, and above all the death of Marcus Aurelius at the hands of his son instead of plague as commonly hypothesized, do not affect the strength of a film that is clear novel, successful exercise of film rhetoric, strong of a story written in marble anyway and a sentimental palette without discounts, ranging from mourning to revenge, from pride to glory over the centuries.
But the gladiator is also and above all him, Russell Crowe in the role of Maximus, and it is his vibrant interpretation but retained the best move of the film: alone, Crowe opposes the logic of excess that moves each other department and keeps the film in the wake of a celebration of Maximus's humility, of his courageous and upright actions, wary of flattery, and of his human and perhaps ingenuous dreaming. Needless to say, for a character of this magnitude (equivalent to a demigod in the dream sequences that put in communication the dark world of the living with the golden world that will come), it needed an antagonist to the height: the Commodore of Joaquim Phoenix the it is to the point of stealing the scene from the hero on several occasions.
In the hands of Ridley Scott, the epic is reborn at the cinema and goes to position itself among the synonyms of blockbuster and popular entertainment. And sometimes, as in this case, it is not bad at all

Jake Sully is a wheelchair-bound marine who agrees to move to the planet Pandora (44 light-years away from Earth) to replace his dead brother. He was a scientist whose mission was to explore the planet through an avatar. Since the atmosphere of the planet is toxic to humans, similar beings have been created in all respects to the natives who can be 'guided' by the human who is safe inside the base. Pandora, however, is not just a place to study. It is above all a huge deposit of a precious mineral for the Earth on which the ecological catastrophe has reduced the sources of energy to zero. Greedy and military businessmen are so united in an attempt to dispossess the planet. But there is a problem: the Na'vi natives have no intention of being colonized. The initial task of Jake's avatar will be to get to know its uses and customs and to be accepted into their communities. It will then be able to report whether it is possible to submit them. Jake thus knows Neytiri, a warrior Na'vi daughter of the tribal chief. From her she learns to become a very different warrior from the marine that has been and falls in love with her. From that moment his vision of the company changes.

Vito Corleone, a child emigrated from Sicily to the US, has become a great "godfather", the head of an important mafia family. We turn to him as a person of great importance: in the first sequences Don Vito receives people as in a real audience, ask him for favors and he decides whether or not to do them. The favors consist in punishing, or even killing someone, in obtaining a certain contract or work. Corleone has three children, Michael (Pacino), Sonny (Caan), Fredo (Cazale). When the old man is seriously wounded in an attack, it is Michael, a war hero and a lawyer, whom the patriarch wanted to keep away from business, to face the situation. Kills the person responsible for the attack and the complicit policeman, then flees to Sicily. When he returns, he becomes the undisputed leader and introduces more modern and effective systems. Little by little it becomes one with its role. In the meantime he married and had children who did not distract him from the "other" family. The film ends with the massacre, ordered by Michael, of all his rivals, while the new godfather assists in church at the baptism of one of his sons.

Un mio pensiero cristallizza la realtà.
Il resto è storia ormai, che passa e se ne va!

1308/5000
The peasants of a remote village in Mexico, to defend themselves from the repeated attacks of a band of outlaws, decide to seek the protection of a famous "gunslinger" from Texas: Chris. He accepts the assignment and gathers around him other six skillful and brave shooters. Shortly before yet another onslaught by the outlaws, the seven men reach the village, organize the defense and manage to disperse the attackers' band after a violent battle. If the first battle has been resolved in a success of Chris and his men, a new assault determines their defeat. Captured and disarmed, the seven defenders are forced by marauders to leave the country. The failure suffered burns in the soul of the "pistoleros". So here they come back determined to fight to the last to cancel the shame of defeat. The decisive battle takes place in a bloody and violent way. Four of Chris's men fall under the blows of the Mexican marauders, but the survivors, with the courage of despair, will end up exterminating the entire gang. Chris, along with one of the survivors, will take his leave of the grateful people and set off on new adventures. Chico, the youngest of the seven, will instead settle in the village, where he holds back the love for a Mexican girl.

Danny has spent a romantic summer vacation with the blonde and sweet Sandy. But the girl left for Australia or, at least, it should have been. Instead Danny finds her in his high school. Sandy has remained in the States but Danny has a reputation for wandering females to defend and then when he meets her he has to pretend disinterest. Thus begins a pull and spring between the two around which other love affairs develop. First of all that of Betty Rizzo, the undisputed leader of Pink who, in turn, has built a daring image but, like all, dreams of the love that lasts.

The group of "Mission impossible" is employed in an impossible task, in fact. The beautiful Cruise, who discovers that it was a great trick just to discover an inner traitor, all die less. Between Prague, London, Langley (home of the CIA) lives the mixed plot between James Bond, Die Hard and ... the M.I. television. Electronics, the Internet, helicopters entering tunnels. In short, the inevitable special effects with the added value of a director who has always had something more. Destined to a great success even before the landing in the halls. Pleasant even if overrated. All in all Cruise is not worth Connery. We record the passage of Béart through the film: uncomfortable as a ghost in the sun, monotonous and mono-expressive.

New York, 1984. Peter Venkman, Raymond Stantz and Egon Spengler, three university researchers in parapsychology, have been studying for a long time, but with poor results, the paranormal phenomena. Contacted by the Public Library of New York on the 5th street, they are for the first time face to face with an ectoplasm, that of the former librarian Eleanor Twitty, the "Lady in Gray". Collecting samples, they begin to evaluate the potential of the discovery, just as they are driven out by the Chancellor of the University for lack of results in their respective fields of research.

The very young Bilitis leaves the college and her "special" girlfriend to go and spend her vacations at the rich Melissa and her rough husband Pierre. Here the girl will resume her games in spite of the presence of a young photographer she is in love with. The subject is badly taken from a collection of prose poems by the French Pierre Louys.

Goldfinger is the fourth and last 007 that remains linked to the writer's story. Goldfinger is an international gold trader, but he is also a great smuggler. Bond is on his trail. Goldfinger is planning the theft of the century: he will take all of the US gold reserve away from Fort Knox. This was at least the plot of the book. The film changes things: Goldfinger does not take the trouble to transport thousands of tons of gold, it will simply burst inside the vault a small atomic bomb that will make the radioactive metal for ninety-eight years and, in fact, multiply by ten the value of his personal reserve.

Already from the first shots we read on the face of twenty-year-old Benjamin Braddock a strange disturbance, an unusual disquiet that is enough to dispel the topos of the nostalgic return home.
The son of a successful businessman, a graduate with honors and projected towards a brilliant career, apparently the young protagonist would have no reason to be unhappy, and yet he seems absent, totally unrelated to that sumptuous and muffled world in which he is called to live. Nor are the paternal solicitations to shake him from the deep state of inertia in which he has fallen. The only distraction from the new torpid existence is the secret relationship with Mrs. Robinson, wife of her father's partner. But even in this timid experience of transgression, Benjamin succeeds in establishing a serious human contact. A difficulty of communication, of openness to the world torments the protagonist, unable to face solitude, until the love for the beautiful Elaine, daughter of her mature lover, awakens hope in him. But the story slips into the drama when the relationship with the Robinson comes to the surface and Elaine, although in love with Benjamin, decides to marry another man.

Star Wars (British original title Star Wars) is a colossal science fiction franchise created by George Lucas, which develops from a film franchise that began in 1977 with the film Star Wars and retroactively subtitled Episode IV - A New Hope. This film was followed by two other films, distributed three years apart: The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and The Return of the Jedi (1983). These three films make up the so-called "original trilogy". Sixteen years after the release of the last film, Lucas decided to shoot a prequel trilogy, composed of The Phantom Menace (1999), The Attack of the Clones (2002) and The Revenge of the Sith (2005). In 2012 The Walt Disney Company purchased the rights to the series and started production of a sequel trilogy, which began with The Awakening of the Force (2015) and continued with The Last Jedi (2017).

A group of Japanese scientific researchers, due to force majeure, abandon a wonderful set of sled dogs in a remote base of the South Pole. The fifteen animals, linked together, without food and without shelter, have very little chance of survival, but Jiro and Taro, the two most beautiful and brave, will be able to save themselves and return to the men who had had to abandon them. Splendid and dazzling landscapes for a sad, very moving tale.

Moments in the lives of the members of a small group of New York gangsters distributed over about 40 years. The story, narrated with frequent use of flashbacks and flash forward, is focused on David "Noodles" Aronson and his companions of all time (they grew up together in the Lower East Side): Cockeye, Patsy and Max. Prohibition to end the Sixties when Noodles, now an old man, returns to New York. All this not necessarily in this order.
"Once upon a time in America, it's not a gangster movie, it's a film about nostalgia for a certain period, a certain type of cinema, a certain literature, I'm sure I did" Once upon a time my cinema "more than Once upon a time in America". So Sergio Leone on one of the most maltreated masterpieces in the history of cinema. The director did not have the right to final cut and the American distribution reworked the film in more ways until the havoc of rearranging the narrative in chronological order. If there is a film in which the flow of time bound to memories, but at the same time clouded by a present that disperses in the smoke flares of opium, it is fundamental, that film is Once Upon a Time in America.

John Rambo is Vietnam's veteran, he is melancholy and disappointed, the war left him profound signs. He goes to see his fellow soldier and learns that he just died of cancer. He then resumed his path and ran into the local sheriff who ordered him to leave. Rambo does not intend to be impositions, after all he did not do anything. The sheriff provokes him and, with the help of his agents, stops him. Rambo, who in Vietnam has seen all the colors and brings bad memories inside, explodes. Trained for fighting on the edge of human possibilities, he is easily right of the policemen and manages to escape. The manhunt begins in woods, streams and rocks. Rambo plays at home, hurts and kills. Even the national guard moves, but the ex-soldier seems truly invulnerable. It would be a major massacre if his former commander, Colonel Trautman, stopped him. Rambo surrenders and, crying, screams all his rage of human being desperate and abandoned by society, for which he risked his life and compromised his integrity. A film of great popular success, which has become the object of strange exploitation and definitions. It has been said that Rambo was the translation of the concepts of Reagan's politics: therefore by resorting to the usual terms "right", "fascism", "hedonism" and so on. Rambo is not a good movie, it's a clever product that works well in the times, in the "muscles" and in the action sequences. Everything else is to be left to the infinite dialectical possibilities of criticism. The film had two sequels. These yes that have looked for other political implications, useless and demagogic. Rambo became gradually the exterminating angel of the old Vietnamese enemies and of the historical Russian enemies, represented exactly like the Sioux and the Apaches of the western movies. The film has paved the way for an infinite number of productions that have followed the original one in the ways and in the times, with a proposed and re-proposed canvas, and now almost blocked.

Naples. Gianni and Carla are preparing their wedding, while the military service is about to end.

But the record contract that Traimonti has signed with the RCA Italiana has a clause that prevents the marriage, because the recorders are convinced that the wedding can make it fall in favor of the fans: the two young then get married in secret.

Carla becomes pregnant and the baby is born just the day before Gianni's departure for a tour in Spain; but during one stage a young heiress falls in love with Gianni.

After some misunderstandings, on the final evening of a festival, Gianni announces to all the fans that he is already married and that he is the father of a child.

Taken from "If I no longer had you" of 1965, a light version of the "Silence out of order" played in the barracks. It was recorded by chance, in a concert at the Palaeur in Rome in front of a military audience. The artist decided to do it with a melancholy recited part in which he described the solitude of the military conscript who gave a romantic goodnight to his distant girlfriend, and the welcome was explosive.

Earth Song is a single from the American singer Michael Jackson, the third from the HIStory album: Past, Present and Future - Book I.

Written and composed by Jackson, it is a ballad that incorporates elements of gospel, blues and opera. The singer used to publish socially conscious songs, like We Are the World, Man in the Mirror and Heal the World; however, Earth Song was the first to openly address the issue of the environment and animal welfare.

In 2011 the song was incorporated with the poetry Planet Earth (originally published in the soundtrack of This Is It in 2009) and included as a track in the Immortal remix album. It was Jackson's last song in life, around midnight on June 25, 2009, a few hours before his death
