Rein Mercha

Rein Mercha (stage name of Reinard Dewus) who lives in The Hague is also called Rein de Parel . He is an interpreter of Sinti music in the Netherlands. Mercha was the only one to release a CD with songs sung in sintital. He also sings in Dutch and English. In 2004, the NCRV released a documentary from I Soeni (the Dream), made by Carin Goeijers , about the life of Mercha .  He was filmed by the documentary maker for two years of his life.

In 2013, Rein took part in the SBS6 program Blood, Sweat & Tears . In this program the search was made for the new folk singer of the Netherlands. Rein won the first broadcast of a total of six audition rounds. After this, Rein continued every round. Rein eventually made it to the final where he came in second, behind Jason Bouman .
