Andrij Prosorov ( Ukrainian : Андрій Прозоров, own spelling: Andrey Prozorov , * November 17, 1975 in Odessa )   is a Ukrainian saxophonist , composer and representative of jazz and worldmusic .  He gained renown through his collaboration with Joe Zawinul and the band Zawinul Syndicate .

Prosorov studied classical saxophone at the State Conservatory in Odessa . In 2001 the pianist Rudi Wilfer took him to Vienna, where Prosorow finished his jazz education with Wolfgang Puschnig at the Vienna University of Music. From 2002 onwards a regular collaboration with Joe Zawinul and Karl Ritter [2] followed . From 2005 to 2013 he toured with Fatima Spar and the Freedom Fries . Since 2014, Andrij Prosorov has been a member of the band Zawinul Syndicate .

Andrij Prosorow played with Alegre Corrêa , Wolfgang Puschnig , Walter Singer, Otto Lechner , David Six , Jon Sass , Joe Zawinul, Vadim Neselovskyi and Karl Ritter.

Since 2015 he has worked with the singer Christina Scherrer , with whom he founded the band Scherrer & Prozorov . Scherrer is responsible for lyrics and singing, Prozorov for arrangements and compositions.  In autumn 2016, they took second place at the Troubadour Chanson & Song Competition in Stuttgart .
