Antonello Venditti, born Anthony Venditti (Rome, March 8, 1949), it is an Italian singer-songwriter.

For the first time appears a song about high school memories, "Companion of the school", while the title track is a story of drugs; Full disc The ibex wounded, a story inspired by the events of Felice Riva.

The following disc, Ullallà, published in October of 1976 tries to break away musically from the previous (thanks mainly to the presence of Ivan Graziani, who plays guitars and care arrangements); the songs deal with topics such as historic compromise in "Our Lady of Lourdes", or the environmental disaster caused dall'ICMESA of Seveso July 10, 1976 with the escape of the toxic cloud of dioxin in "Song for Seveso".

Venditti contacts a new producer, Michelangelo Romano (who previously worked with Alan Sorrenti and Roberto Vecchioni), which makes him sign a new recording contract with Philips, and contact again the Stradaperta, the group with which he had collaborated with Lilly times , and records under the sign of Pisces (1978), which returns to the top spot in both the 45 laps of the 33 rankings, and Buona Domenica (1979).

Good Sunday after the singer takes a break of three years, even for some family problems (in this period is separated from his wife, Simona Izzo), interrupted only by the collaboration with Luca Barbarossa (Venditti plays the piano in the second version of Rome stripped, contained in the album Luca Barbarossa).

Rome foreman is included in an album (theorius campus) which sees the simultaneous onset of Antonello Venditti and Francesco De Gregori, both coming from Folkstudio, an alternative venue located in a basement in the heart of Rome. Friends of the two say that Antonello a bit 'ashamed of this song, which was almost never performed in the evenings Folkstudio because too little "busy."
It was Rome foreman instead, the song that gave him fame (De Gregori, despite having participated in the album with four songs alone, plus two sung with Venditti, had to wait for the next Alice to leave the anonymity): dialect gave the right coloring to the verses and was used in a non-free; the music was not a meager accompaniment to the text, as it was in those years for the songwriting, but a real orchestral arrangement; Blood voice and a way to beat the piano keys, similar to the then young Elton John technique, did the rest.

Written by the singer in Rome in 1983, after being left by then his partner Simona Izzo in favor of Maurizio Costanzo, the song also contains a precise reference to the conductor "The rest is life was" in fact, was the phrase with which the popular anchorman he was then usually close all the episodes of his show Costanzo. The author replaced, for issues of opportunity, in some steps towards the indicted "however it's over."
The song quickly gained the favor of the public, especially among the very young. It was included in the album "Heart" which won the best-selling album of the year as Vela d'Oro 1984.

What a treasure you are is a song of the twentieth album by Antonello Venditti in 1999. The video of the first single from this album, In this world you can not understand it was filmed by the director of Train de vie, Radu Mihăileanu. The cover depicts a firmament in the twenty-first century debut through the reworking of a picturesque ancient image; the stars are in the zodiac signs as, ideally, visible from Rome at the stroke of 2000.
