Michael Mücke (* 5 June 1953 in Warnemünde ) is a German volleyball trainer.

Biography
Mücke began as a player in 1968 with his home club engine warning.  In 1976 he was sentenced to a one-and-a-half-year prison sentence after a failed escape from the GDR . He then came to Hamburg in 1978.  He played for eight years at Hamburger SV and at the same time earned his coaching license.

  In addition to the Hamburger SV, he coached Eimsbüttel and the women's second division SC Langenhorn .  In 1994 he switched to Post Telekom Berlin .  Two years later he went to the Düren TV , which had risen to the Bundesliga last year. With Mücke, the club won the class three times in a row.  The Düren Fanclub gave itself the name "Moskitos" in reference to the surname of the coach.

In 1999 Mücke switched to the local rival SV Bayer Wuppertal , which he established in the top group of the Bundesliga.  In 2003 his contract ended despite the second Vizemeisterschaft. [6] In January 2004 Mücke took over the currently unsuccessful climber VC Markranstädt .  When the club merged with the neighbors from Leipzig in 2006, he became coach of the new VC Leipzig .  In 2008, he received a new assignment with TSV Giesen / Hildesheim , who finished already after one season, because the class failed.

  In February 2010, Mücke was coach at the VC Bad Dürrenberg / Spergau , because his predecessor fell ill.  In the following season, the team played in the relegation round of the Bundesliga. Since 2012 Mücke returned to Düren and took over for the second time evivo Düren (now SWD Powervolleys Düren ).  In the 2012/13 season, his team lost the Bundesliga semi-finals in the play-off quarter-finals and came into the semi -finals of the DVV Cup .

One year later, Düren and Mücke climbed to fifth place in the Bundesliga . In the Bundesliga season 2014/15 the SWD Powervolleys with Mücke as a table champion are in the playoff semifinals; In the DVV Cup they were defeated in the semi-finals. At the end of March 2015 the association announced that the expiring contract with Mücke was not renewed.
